Meet Our Staff

In addition to the outstanding care providers and volunteers, the Clare Housing team is comprised of an administrative staff that brings wide-ranging skills and experience to Clare Housing.

Lee Lewis

Executive Director

Lee joined Clare Housing as Executive Director in January 2002. Before joining the staff at Clare Housing, Mr. Lewis had been involved in almost every aspect of nonprofit organizations, having worked as a senior manager at the Wilder Foundation, provided social work services at Allina Hospice, served on a number of boards of directors, taught non-profit management at the University of St. Thomas and at Northland College, and worked as a lobbyist for non-profits at the State Capitol.

Lee has been involved in HIV/AIDS issues since the mid-1980's. He currently serves as chair of the Minnesota HIV Housing Coalition and as a member of the boards of the National AIDS Housing Coalition and Minnesota Fighting AIDS on Bikes (MN FAB). Lee is a past member of the Minnesota HIV Service Planning Council.

He received his Masters of Science in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

Allan Coleman

Director of Finance

Allan joined Clare Housing in April 2008 with 18 years of non-profit accounting experience. His responsibilities at Clare Housing include budget preparation and oversight; government and foundation grant compliance, financial analysis, information management and forecasting and audit coordination.

Allan has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Wartburg College in Iowa and a Masters of Business Administration from Metropolitan State University in Minnesota.

Michele Boyer

Director of Programs

Michele started her work with the organization in 1998 as Program Director of Grace House of Minneapolis. Michele currently is responsible for the oversight of all Clare Housing programs including the adult foster care homes, the home care at Clare Apartments, and the scattered site program.

Prior to working in foster care, Michele was employed by the Minnesota AIDS Project from 1992 to 1998 where she worked in the Transitional Housing Program and later as an HIV Case Manager.

Michele has a Masters Degree in Spirituality (Geo-Justice) from the Institute of Culture and Creation Spirituality in Oakland, CA. She has a Bachelors of Arts from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN.

Elisabeth Loeffler

Director of Development and Communications

Elisabeth Loeffler joined Clare Housing in February 2009 as the Development and Communications Director. Since moving to the Twin Cities in 2007, Elisabeth has worked at The Children's Theatre Company and Theatre de la Jeune Lune serving in different fundraising roles. Prior to moving to Minneapolis from San Francisco she served as the Development Director for Project Inform, a national non-profit AIDS organization. There she was responsible for raising $1.2 million. Elisabeth also served as the Executive Director at Academy of Friends, raising over $1 million each year for AIDS service organizations in the Bay Area.

Yvonne Larson

Director of Human Resources & Administrative Operations

Yvonne joined Clare Housing in January of 2001 as Office Administrator and was promoted to her current position in 2005. She manages administrative functions of the organization to assure smooth and efficient business operations and management. Yvonne graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations with minors in Business Administration and German.

Cynthia Wolterding

Supportive Housing Manager

Cynthia joined the Clare Housing team with the opening of Clare Apartments in 2005. With five years of experience providing HIV/AIDS prevention to homeless and at-risk adults in the Bronx she is a great asset to the team. Before that Cynthia spent 10 years in Central America working on community development projects, providing mental health services and health education. As the Supportive Housing Manager, she connects residents with social services, support groups and alternative therapies. Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Independent Studies from the Wallace School of Community Service at the University of Oregon.

Lee Haugee

Events and Volunteer Manager

Lee became involved in the HIV/AIDS community as a volunteer in 1996 after she rode in the first Twin Cities to Chicago AIDS Ride. In early 1997 she became the first employee of Samaritan House, one of the beneficiaries of the ride. When Clare Housing took over the operations of Samaritan House, Lee became the Event Manager of the organization. In 2001 Lee left Clare to become Volunteer and Event Coordinator of AIDS Care Partners and now is back with us following the merger of the two organizations in 2006. Her extensive experience as both a volunteer for several Twin Cities organizations and her skills in event management will serve Clare Housing well.

Debbie Wyman

Volunteer Coordinator

Debbie joined Clare Housing in December 2009 and serves as both Administrative and Volunteer Coordinator. She assists with the administrative functions of the organization as well as manages the many volunteers at Clare Housing's six care homes and the aparments. Prior to her current position, she served for eight years as the Parish Administrator of Trinity Episcopal Church in Excelsior, and for six years as the Faith Formation Administrator of St. Therese Catholic Church in Deephaven. In addition, Debbie earned a certificate in Spiritual Direction and works part-time at The Marsh, a center for balance and fitness committed to inspiring a healthy attitude toward life.
