My First Year at Clare Housing —

Wow how time flies when you are having fun! It’s hard to believe that one year ago today I joined the Clare Housing team.

Some of the highlights of my first year have included:

  • Crewing for the Red Ribbon Ride and meeting all the amazing people whose dedication, compassion and perseverance helped them through extreme heat, strong headwinds, hills and even rain on the final day of the ride.
  • The opening of Spirit on Lake Apartments and welcoming five new Clare Housing residents to their new home.
  • Securing nearly $8 million in public financing for Clare Terrace which will break ground by the end of the year and be home to 36 people living with HIV/AIDS.
  • Working with an incredibly talented and dedicated staff that has shown me the true meaning of compassionate care, respect and dignity. I continue to learn from them each day.

Over the last six months, I’ve been working closely with both the Board of Directors and staff to craft Clare Housing’s new Strategic Framework which will guide our work and growth in the coming years.

Over the next several months we’ll unveil key pieces of the framework here on the blog until the final framework, along with our new mission statement and vision is unveiled October 8 at our annual fundraising breakfast. I hope you will join us!

Thanks to everyone who has helped make this a great year. Your continued support while help us ensure that all people living with HIV/AIDS in Minnesota has a place to call home!
