Clare Housing’s 2014 Legislative Agenda —

I am pleased to announce the 2014 Legislative Agenda for Clare Housing that was recently approved by the Board of Directors.  As an organization, we provide an important bridge between policy makers and their constituents, particularly those who are living with HIV/AIDS.

We promote and encourage good public policy that ensures individuals can easily access affordable housing and the services they need to maintain their dignity and health. When we are successful, we build our own capacity as a community to achieve the greatest good for the greatest number of people.  Our agenda for 2014 is focused in four areas:

  • Ensuring adequate funding for affordable housing
  • Ensuring our model of service and care is preserved
  • Ensuring a wide range of housing options for people living with HIV/AIDS
  • Ensuring adequate funding and policies that support prevention, education, and services.

I am excited about this work and thrilled that Clare Housing has made public policy a priority for the organization. I look forward to what we as a community can accomplish to make Clare Housing’s vision a reality – that all people living with HIV/AIDS in the state of Minnesota will have a permanent, affordable home with access to the services they need.

Please take some time to read through our public policy agenda which can be found on our new Public Policy section on our web page.  Here you will find our Legislative Agenda, updates on our work and calls for action when we need your support.
