There’s a big funding gap to be filled. Let’s get started. —

People are living longer with HIV. That’s why more than half of government funding for HIV supports care and treatment programs in the United States. We’re all for ensuring that people living with HIV have access to the necessary treatments needed to achieve positive HIV health outcomes.

However, when we look closer, only 10% of funding for HIV is set aside for housing assistance, and only 3% supports HIV prevention, despite data that show the positive impact housing has on HIV outcomes and prevention. Given our political environment, the future of even this HIV funding, imbalanced as it is, may be in jeopardy.

Each year, approximately 85% of Clare Housing’s budget comes from government sources, leaving around $570,000 that comes from the community, including people like you, foundations, corporations and fundraising events, like the Red Ribbon Ride.

In addition, volunteers contribute thousands of hours each year preparing and serving dinner for residents in our care homes, providing friendship and support, transportation and coordinating events like bingo and movie nights. Without the support of individuals like you, Clare Housing could not continue its work.

In 2015, Clare Housing needs to raise $568,704 to ensure we can continue our work providing housing supports and care. As of this month, we have raised $31,567. Over the remaining 8 months, we will need to raise an additional $537,137.

We’re proud of the work we do at Clare Housing. What we’re doing is working. What we need to do is more of it. But there’s a big gap between the need for funding and the money available for Clare Housing to sustain its mission.

OUR MISSION FOR YOU: HELP US CLOSE THE GAP

Over the next several months, we are going to keep you updated on our progress and share stories that demonstrate the impact Clare Housing has on the lives on the 150 residents who call Clare Home. The house graphic below will help you visually check-in with our progress. If you want to get started now helping us close the gap, you can make a secure, tax-deductible online donation at GiveMN.org.

Thank you for your support. Thank you for sharing our story with the broader community. Together, we can end homelessness for people living with HIV. Together, we can end HIV.
