Q: What if I am asked questions about Clare Housing and I don’t know the answer?

A: One of the best ways to learn about Clare Housing is by attending one of our Journey Home programs to hear about our mission, and learn first-hand how affordable housing and supportive services improves the quality of life for people living with HIV in the Twin Cities.

Any questions you are not comfortable answering should be referred to a Clare Housing staff member.

Q: When should I start inviting my guests?

A: Start now! It is a good idea to have plenty of lead time to invite your guests. Calendars fill up quickly so we recommend that you don’t delay getting started. Do you belong to a group or club? What about a faith community? Think about family, friends, neighbors or colleagues.

Q: What if most of the people I invite work during the time of the luncheon?

A: We know how valuable your time is, and that of your guests. We promise to stick closely to our agenda, which will allow your guests to leave shortly after 1 pm.

Q: What if I have more than 10 guests who can attend?

A: FABULOUS! We will do our best to seat your additional guests at a table near you so you can serve as the Table Host for those guests as well. The breakfast is going to be very inspiring so your guests will have a good time and meet some new people wherever they sit.

Q: What makes this event unique?

A: Our Luncheon is unique for several reasons:

  • There is no cost to attend, and no minimum or maximum contribution required.
  • We rely on the personal touch of each table host to invite his or her guests over the phone or in person.
  • We are not asking for a lot of time, and we promise that this hour will be inspirational. We guarantee that when your guests hear how Clare Housing has helped improve the quality of life for our residents they will be glad they came.

Q: What does it take to make a good Table Host?

A: You do not need to be a great sales person to be a good Table Host. All you need is passion for Clare Housing, a little time to contact potential guests, and some knowledge of the event. We already know you have the passion and we know you want to make a difference for our residents, so we are confident that you will make some time to advance our mission in the community.

Q: What should I say when I invite guests?

A: We have included a sample phone script and email that you can customize for your use in inviting guests. We encourage you to add a personal touch by relating why you became involved with Clare Housing.

Q: What do I do next when a guests says “yes?”

A: Thank them and note their name and email address. Once registration is available, email them the link to registration. You may also send them a print Invitation Postcard in the mail.

Place a friendly reminder call to each of your guests a couple days before the event to reconfirm their attendance.
