A Letter from Executive Director Chuck Peterson on his Transition —

Dear Friends,

As I reflect on the past 6.5 years serving as Clare Housing’s Executive Director, I have so much gratitude to have had the opportunity to work alongside such an amazing group of individuals. Together, we have added over 100 units of housing for low-income, formerly homeless individuals living with HIV. In 2021, we will open Bloom Lake Flats in partnership with Project for Pride in Living. It has truly been a remarkable journey. Thank you for making that journey possible.

As a valued partner and supporter of Clare Housing, I’m writing today to share with you my transition as Executive Director of Clare Housing in December. Recently, I received an opportunity to continue work around ending homelessness at a statewide level. Starting in mid-January I will embark on a new journey, serving as Executive Director of the Heading Home Minnesota Funders Collaborative. I’m excited to continue the spirit of the work we have done at Clare Housing and to help maximize philanthropy’s role in preventing and ending homelessness and making sure that every Minnesotan has safe, affordable, and stable housing.

To ensure a smooth transition, the Board of Directors will be engaging an interim Director in the coming weeks. In addition, they are currently in the process of finalizing a search committee to lead the search for our next Executive Director whom they hope will be in place by early summer. As a supporter you should feel confident that the Board of Directors and staff will continue the work that has made Clare Housing a successful and strong organization over the past 32 years.

I am deeply grateful for your belief in our mission. My hope is that you will continue your partnership with this organization, as will I as a community member. Our collective work as donors and HIV Housing advocates is critical if we are to achieve our vision of ending HIV.

Thank you for your support.

Chuck
