Robert Perdriau Advances from Lead Caregiver to Care Homes Staff Manager —

Robert Perdriau (he/him/they/them) joined Clare Housing at the height of the pandemic. Their former supervisor (and current HR specialist), Angela North said, “he was quickly promoted to Lead Caregiver at Damiano because his skills were evident from day one.”  Now, Robert has been promoted to Care Homes Staff Manager, and we are excited to see them in that role.

Robert, can you tell us what initially attracted you to working with Clare Housing?

I originally was introduced to Clare Housing through a nursing friend that I worked with. She had worked for Clare Housing while in school. After I researched more about the vision and mission statement of Clare Housing, I was interested in interviewing and learning more. Then, after working for Clare Housing and meeting our residents and staff, seeing how much staff do to enrich and care for our residents and how much of a community Clare has formed in the homes, how supportive management is and the longevity of employment of great staff members, I knew this organization was one I would be happy working with to help continue to grow.

Tell us a bit about your work history and how you expect this experience to inform your NEW role.

I have worked with people suffering with addiction, mental health, and chronic systemic homelessness for years. I have my own history of trauma, HIV, and addiction that I was able to overcome and prosper through. I also wanted to help others as I was. Housing First and Harm Reduction models are helping the individual build a heathier, more hopeful future.

What personal values are you looking forward to bringing to this new role?

I am organized and friendly, hardworking, and always excited to learn new things and meet new people.

Tell us a fun or surprising fact about you, or about what you like to do in your free time!

I enjoy cooking, trying out new recipes and spending time with my dog and friends, and playing pinball.

We are excited for your future as Care Home Staff Manager, Robert!  Angela says “I think he’s gonna do great,” and we all agree!
