Jenny Mahoney promoted to Nurse Manager —

Clare Housing has been lucky to have Jenny Mahoney (she/her) with us since 2017. After 5 years of providing excellent nursing care, Jenny is now the Nursing Manager! Here’s a little more about Jenny:

Jenny Mahoney, RN, Nursing Manager

Tell us a little about your history at Clare – when did you start? What initially attracted you to working here?

I started at Clare Housing in November 2017 as the lead RN at Clare Apartments.  I enjoy working in the non-profit world and thought Clare Housing would be a good fit for me given my skills and work history.  I have greatly enjoyed my work at Clare the past five years and I am excited to begin this next journey in my new role as Nurse Manager.

What are you most excited about in your new role?

What I am most excited about in my new role is meeting more of the residents of Clare Housing.  I have gotten to know several of the folks living at Clare Midtown already and am looking forward to seeing new faces as they move into Bloom Lake Flats.

Tell us a surprising fact about you – or what you like to do in your free time.

A surprising fact about me is that nursing is my second career.  The first career of my adult life was as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW).  As a LSW, I managed group homes, both 245d and Intermediate Care (ICF) licensed facilities.  Following that, I worked at an Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) program and did some shifts in crisis residence.  I think my social work background ties in well with my nursing job here at Clare Housing and I certainly continue to use a lot of the skills I developed during my time working as an LSW.

We’re certainly glad you are part of the Clare Housing, team, Jenny! Congratulations on your new role!
