Meet Alejandro Aguilera

Alejandro Aguilera works with Clinic 555 and is an advocate for people living with HIV/AIDS. As a person of color living with HIV, he has experienced firsthand the complex barriers that prevent far too many from getting the healthcare they need.

Racism, classism and misogyny – all are factors that influence who is getting adequate treatment in the United States, and who is not. As a board member of the class of 2019, Alejandro looks forward to using his knowledge of these oppressive forces to shape the decisions that the board makes.

A yogi at heart, he believes we are all part of the most incredible journey – Life. One of his favorite quotes is the following: “Our lives are not our own. We are bound to others, past and present, and by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future.”
